Installing the Flettner roof vent involves cutting a hole in a flat surface on the van roof. This can be done using either an air hacksaw or for a cleaner cut using a holesaw and drill driver. The Flettner ‘2000’ ventilator cannot be fitted without adaptation to roofs where the spacing between raised ribs is less than 5.75” (145mm). However you can fit the alternative Flettner TCX-2™ ventilator (narrow base version) which can be fitted where the spacing between raised ribs is as small as 4.25” (108mm).
